The British Society of Scientific Glassblower is a Learned society with the aim of promoting Scientific glassblowing and further good practice and passing on of skills.
The British Society of Scientific Glassblowers (BSSG) was set up in 1960 with the aim of promoting both Scientific Glassblowing techniques and good practices. The BSSG is renowned worldwide for promoting excellence, developing standards of the skills of glassblowing adopted around the world. With Scientific Glassblowing becoming a listed on the Heritage Crafts Endangered Red list the aims of the Society have become even more important to ensure this rare but still relevant skill is protected for future generations.
